This is a hand vs allen from PO. I 3bet AA and he flats oop. Board falls J 10 K cc. This is a dangerous flop. The only hand I am in great shape vs that flats pre is AK. 10J, 1010, JJ, QQ, KK, AQs, AQo are all in the villians range. I check back in position for pot control. Even though there is a flush draw I dont expect him to have suited connectors too often here because I 3bet big and he is OOP. turn is a blank. He could be getting tricky and trying to trap me so once again I check back turn on a blank. I know I am losing value vs drawing hands. But i cant see him flatting with JQ, KQ too often out of position and these are the most likely drawing hands. I suspect he has 88 or 99 by the turn or something that really missed like 56s-78s. River comes Ac. Completing the straight and the flush draw. Again he checks. Even though i have trip aces there is no need to bet for value. He is almost never calling and if he is/or if he check raises I am beat.

Here is an example of AA where there is a flush draw on the board but having the A of that suit helps determine the right play to make. In a limped pot, a whale 45/10 min raises the button. I decide to play no funny games and bump it up to .50 to get the pretenders out. I think this narrows his range to 99+ AK even though he is a whale. Flop comes J 5 3 ss and I have the As. I bet .80 which is effectively making him play for stacks with 2.25 behind. He flats and the turn comes the 3s. I am not so worried about AKss AQss getting there because I have the As. And I don't think he would play many other suited hands for 50 cents. Maybe QKs because he is a huge whale. Regardless with the paired turn I have 11 outs if he does have the flush and I am almost always good here vs another over pair. I push him in for the rest of his stack on turn and hold vs 1010.

AA UTG sucks. If you limp in you are praying for a raise or squeeze and when it doesnt happen you find yourself OOP going to a flop multiway with a hard hand to fold. Sometimes I will limp if I am at a table where my opponents dont know my playing style, but I have a good read on them being aggro and raising a lot. I honestly rarely limp though. My standard raise is .12 so I raise AA just like any other hand. Here is a spot where I raise AA pre and fire pot on flop. The flop is Q 4 5 hh. I bet pot because there are a ton of combos of Qx he could have and I want to make him pay for that or if he has a flush/straight draw. The 8 hits the turn which would complete the 67 open ender. I check and he bets .60 into .90. We both are kind of deep stacked still so I decide to 3x raise. I think this just looks so strong and he cant continue without the nuts. If he were to flat this bet I would be very scared and check fold a lot of rivers. With an addition .60 in the pot I am happy to make a strong raise and take down the pot, leaving him clueless about what I am holding.

Here is an AA where I check back for pot control on a wet flop in position. I turn a reasonably blank card that opens a few more draws but doesnt complete many draws and get a drawing hand to bet big into me. I call the bet ready to play the river. The 10 hits making two 10s on the board. I check back because I either have the villian crushed and he isnt calling or he is check raising me.

Here is AA where I 3bet in position and get called by a villian. The flop is K 5 K hh and I have Ah. Once again this is valuable information when you have the Ah on a flush draw board because it narrows the villians range to not include hands like AQhh Axhh. The pot is almost a dollar on the flop. He checks and I bet .40. I am hoping to get called by worse hands like 99-QQ and even if he has some heart draw I dont mind because I have the redraw/blocker. He check raises a weird amount over $2. I fold and muck AA, and to my delight he shows me the QK.

Here is AA out of position. I check on an 8 10 2 dd board. Once again I have the Ad which narrow my opponents range. I check to him and he bets .32 when pot is .30. Most likely he is betting out draws or thinks he has the best hand but doesnt mind taking it down. I think JJ and QQ is well in his range as well as top pair. Although I think he would bet out a set because of the two diamonds, I don't think he would bet this much. Most players are afraid to bet out sets!!!! It seems like he is really try to just win the pot and take away my odds to draw. He has a little under $2 behind so I put him all in betting $4.20 for the stoners. This way I am not letting him see a free card if he was being tricky and overbetting a flush draw and he should stack off overpairs and some top pairs. He snap calls with TPTK, hes dominated, and I hold.

Keep it up man. Your on pace to break into the 10nl games. I know you told me earlier that you plan on really making it at 4nl before moving, so good luck. When you make the move I know you will be ready. Congrats, and maybe you turn your hard work into something down the road. Getting your fundamentals down will be key, as you will need a solid foundation to move on up and focus on more complex situations. Hope that was coherent enough, I just finished a 5 part Mtt series and am almost nodding off. Hopefully I see you in a couple of those Poker Maximus tourneys I was discussing with you earlier.

I think your a good player sharking. You are very mental and I think if you open it up a little to making it ok to make some mistakes then more pots will come to you. I find it difficult to fold aces and only do it mulitway pot. 1 on 1 I ride it ouy and say ok if you beat me. but I dont lose often with aa.
