Here is the deal on the ratings page. It was designed when the games had 50 - 100 players, and a lot of the all time players have played a substantial amount of those games. In those games, you had to make the top 25% just to score a 5.5. Now, in client you can score a 7 if you make 8th out of 18 players. Just today I came in 2nd in the 1st game for the week, and scored .24 more than the winner. The algorithm used for the games it was designed for does not work the same for the current games. It needs a slight overhaul. Slightly.

it's not rigged, it's just programmed for a different format, and wasn't changed when the format changed. It does not affect the weekly rating though, so its not really an issue because, ideally, we will eventually have games on larger sites again, and it will balance out.
