I do agree that people don't seem to realize that AK or AQ (or nowadays, AJ) is just an A-high hand. They play them like a huge pp preflop. However, in this case, the short was already all-in before you, so he had 6000 more to call into a 12000 pot with A-K. It was a reasonable play.

Im not a fan of small pp's pushing against any overs. Theres only what 4 numbers that can flop and dont beat you.. IMO 22 thru 99 should be for set mining only. not saying there isnt a place to push em but definitely not against 2 other players.
