    live win tonight!

I haven't played live in 6 months, it's probably been closer to a year since I've played a live tourney. I couldn't resist any longer and finally went to check out a tourney in the San Diego area. 30+10+6 bounty tournament. Chopped with 3 people left for $265 plus I won 2 bounties! Of course I hit some bad luck on the limit table afterwards and the slots on the way out the door, but I still walked out $100 ahead all ready to invest in another tournament some time!

My favorite play of the night was something I couldn't have pulled off online. I was the bb with A rag. Flop comes with an A and I go ahead and bet to see where I'm at. It felt like the 2 that stayed in the pot were making weak calls because one played very aggressively most of the time and the other was a calling station. I made another standard bet on the turn and they both called. River came and it was a coordinated board with a possible broadway draw. I made a fairly large bet to push the aggressive player out of the pot. He took time thinking about what his move was going to be which led me to believe he either had me out kicked or had 2 pair. So I waited about 20 sec, slowly leaned back in my chair, let my hand shake a little, and avoided eye contact. He threw his hand away right after I did that. Of course the calling station threw his hand away, he was never a threat, probably had 2nd pair.

The best part though is that I have been really working on improving my game over the last 6 months and I definitely felt like the shark in the water. It was so easy pinning everyone's playing styles down and in that cheap of a tournament there weren't that many good players. Hopefully I can take it down again sometime!

I went to try out another casino/tournament tonight. They have some interesting promotion. Like it was college night, so they have a $25 rebuy tournament that you can get into for $10 if you were wearing college apparel of had a student id. So of course I dug through my hubby's dirty laundry to find his Mizzou engineeringing shirt so I could get in for $10, it didn't even smell too bad! Then they will give you an extra 1k in starting chips for each hour of live play before the tourney starting 2 hours before, so I went early for that. They had 3/6 limit with a full kill. Since it was my first time there I got $10 in "blind" chips that I could use for the blinds since all of the blinds get taken for rake. Rake is apparently ridiculously high all over Cali. Anyways they have a kings cracked promo where if your kings get cracked you get to spin this wheel for a bonus. Very first hand I get my kings cracked and win $40. Within 10 min I get kings cracked again for another $60. On top of that it the rest of the table was HORRIBLE!! It felt like stealing from a nursing home because it was a bunch of really old men that were seriously bad players. They were all buying in for the minimum. I think they were just there to try and win the bbj.

Ok, so the tournament finally started and I could never make anything happen. Partly due to this one donk on my left. Anyways I lost some rebuys and didn't make the money in the tourney, but that's ok. Walked into the casino with an $80 br and left with $160. So another good live day!
