    Great Session: CAP games

I used to play those no blind increase HU SnGs on PokerStars, but I found myself at my computer all day for 7 hours to win $50.00 bucks or so.

I guess they're good for grinders and whatnot but I think the real money to be had is in the ring games.

'Trusting' you money in a structured tournament is fun for a lot of people, so I'm not dissing them. It's just that they're so many different people jockying and using other people as a proxy to get far in the tourney or things to that nature, that I find ring games to be more social and just plain more fun.

You find yourself racing with other people's pocket cards only to find out that it's a race for a higher kicker. After all, we're all getting rake points in the end so being a little loose didn't hurt any1. Heck, I made about 177 in about 30 minutes.

    Anyway, check this doosy out:

    *** HOLE CARDS ***
    Dealt to IlmariRuth [Qc Ad]
    Roger248: folds
    chase73: folds
    elvn89: folds
    IlmariRuth: raises $2 to $4
bittarion: raises $36 to $40 and has reached the $40 cap
    cvsb1: folds
IlmariRuth: calls $36 and has reached the $40 cap
    *** FLOP *** [Td 4d 8h]
    *** TURN *** [Td 4d 8h] [5c]
    *** RIVER *** [Td 4d 8h 5c] [5d]
    *** SHOW DOWN ***
bittarion: shows [Ah Js] (a pair of Fives)
IlmariRuth: shows [Qc Ad] (a pair of Fives - Ace+Queen kicker)
    IlmariRuth collected $79.20 from pot
    *** SUMMARY ***
    Total pot $82 | Rake $2.80
    Board [Td 4d 8h 5c 5d]
Seat 1: cvsb1 (big blind) folded before Flop
Seat 2: Roger248 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 3: chase73 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 4: elvn89 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 5: IlmariRuth (button) showed [Qc Ad] and won ($79.20) with a pair of Fives
Seat 6: bittarion (small blind) showed [Ah Js] and lost with a pair of Fives

Yea, ring games is where the money is at. Its the place where you can make the most money, but also lose the most if you're not careful. And good win. $177 in 30 min is great! But aren't cap games more of a donk fest where you're all in more preflop? Or does it play more of a tight game, where people are waiting for hands and you can take advantage of that?

    Total pot $21.50 | Rake $0.97

5.335 FPPs in one hand, lol. Good for 1/2 of a $50.00 freeroll.

    lol, obviously.

Made about $160.00 in the past 2 days. I think the ppl in some of these ring games are drunkards or ppl who have money to burn. Either way, we're in it for fun so I don't mind racing against them as long as there should be an admin button to call in case of ppl t1lting way too much and hurting the gameplay.

Food for thought, but I'm sure they work with us casinos. Either that, or up the stakes for the dealer involvement. Sure it would cost more but in the higher stakes games, it would really be worth it.

Very different in that they (we) get such a high blind count with only a $40.00 buy-in.

People tilting too much and hurting the gameplay??? Really? I would think thats what you want to make a good amount of money. If it really hurts, then its easy to move to another table. But if people are shoving a lot, all you have to do is wait for strong hands and you should be able to make a lot of money. Way more than a solid standard of 10bb/hr.
