Ok I am learning this on the fly.
Basically when you earn points it goes into your "Piggy Bank" so essentially you will always get paid the SAME. Some of the tasks you complete add more to your piggy bank.
Everytime you reach the thresh hold of your piggy bank, the points drop.
Think of it like clearing a deposit bonus at a poker room. Yes its $500, but you get it $5 at a time whenever you do 100 VIP Points sort of thing
The way they explained it to me:
-Contributors complete multiple Units (answers) within one "page" of work - what we call an Assignment
-Each successful post-training Assignment completed puts points in the Contributors "Piggy Bank"
-Once they hit the Conversion threshold, they get paid out and start over in their "Piggy Bank""And Shepherds we shall be. For thee, my Lord, for thee.

Ok, yea the cardflower thing looks really stupid, pays out no points at all for alot of work.....;(
