The hardest part, is I see people in chat.. people I've known for years.. and I know it could be months or more before I start seeing you guys again..

I bet this does hurt. Ive been here off and on for almost 2 years an alot of names I got used to seeing in chat and also here around the site. I just recently started trading an havent yet once done a redeem but I truly love it here. Thing that sucks the most for me is the freerolls n not even about the money just the games in general. Usual misfits battling for braggin rights.

Ya but the issue is.. for every redeem.. people would have to pay an extra $5.

So for a $20 card they would have to pay me $25 right?

Just to verify, yes that's right, and to reinforce what babyface said, dont start too low, i think the lowest you would get reasonable interest is 15 GDMP for $20 market value of points, id say do a 15, 25, 50 and 100, the last one seems high but given the freerolls will obv start increasing activity in the client i think that would work fine, and maybe discount the fee off of the 100 one

This is hilarious because you wrote this message a full 5 minutes after the other guy you were asking about the free rolls with in chat posted a THANKS to ZAB in the thread where the passwords are clearly given (MADE MORE AMUSING BY THE FACT THAT SAID THREAD IS RIGHT NEXT TO THIS ONE IN THE FORUM!!!!!). I knew the weekend was going to bring all manner of new fun for those of us who took the time over the last 72 hours to educate ourselves on the ongoing crisis.

Effective immediately we are taking down all US facing Poker Rooms, Redemption's and so on. I think you have all seen the news recently that each network is opting out of different states. I think you will find that a dominoe effect will sooner or later occur where eventually all the current US facing rooms that are not licensed be slowly pushed out for the legal ones that will start popping up.

What does this mean for the future of PokerOwned?

We want to be 100% legal. I have always stayed away from sports betting, from PayPal, from Greendot Money Paks. In the near future we will be adding the Euro rooms that do not cater to US traffic.

We will continue to operate as a "GPT" or Get Paid To site, meaning you can still come here, earn points and redeem them for various gift cards.


Is the sky falling for US poker players?

I do not know, I can't answer that. I just know that if we want to remain legal in the future when poker is regulated, we need to stop promoting the rooms that are currently deemed "illegal". That's 100% what it boils down to.

To answer the PMs, long story short is.. If a business wants to offer legal poker inside the US where it's being regulated (NV & NJ for example), then it needs to cease doing business with rooms that are deemed illegal.

I anticipate PokerOwned will recover. Hopefully we will have a regulated market in every state in due time. I am sure this place will be just as successful with Full Tilt, Poker Stars, 888 Poker, Ultimate Poker, and Party Poker. It is just unfortunate for the residents of states with unregulated markets right now. Good luck with the future of the site and the success of its future. I will stick around and hope I either get transferred to Canada, New Jersey, or Nevada or my state sees the potential revenue from regulating.
