Donkey Derby

Help me talk out this idea I have.

Donkey Derby.

This works sort of like a LLB.. I think the way it will work is like this:

You want to enter, you choose a Donkey (player) before the start of a tournament... anyone BUT yourself and anyone who HASN'T been chosen already.


IDEA #1
Let's say it costs 25 points to enter (something small but fun).

People pick donkeys.. if your donkey comes in

1st place - win 70% prize pool
2nd place - win 7% prize pool
3rd place - win 5% prize pool

Progress prize pool so if no one wins, all the points are added to the prize pool

IDEA #2

This one would be more like a LLB. You pick a player anyone but yourself or someone who has already picked. There's a little more strategy involved here. You can pick your player up to the end of late registration. However, the longer you wait, the more points it will cost you.

I.E. lets say it costs 25 points to enter before the tourney

1:01 it might cost 30
1:02 it might cost 35
1:03 it might cost 40

and so on.


Thoughts on the 2 ideas?

Good idea, cheap value and if your guy gets first. Also if your a valueable pick, you may wait longer for late reg and would be expensive to pick you then?

well idea #1 would seem more right i think.

but still be able to pick a person in late registration would be nice.

Instead of making it like a llb where someone wins everytime. Make it a progressive jackpot where if no one's donkey comes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, then it gets added to the next game.

This is just like donkey betting on someone else IMO.

Its essentially donkey bet / pin the tail on the donkey / llb

maybe make better players cost more money to buy

Yea sort of.. So not a good idea? But you are betting on them against everyone else.. And once you pick that person no one else can.
