The best way is to be an owner of a casino or have at least one of TOP online poker portal ;-)
Sng are the best to get some cash, everything else depends on luck too much

cash games are where i end up losing all my money, apart from yesterday on BCP when i had $1 and turned it into a huge $6 by been a donk and playing every hand ...maybe thats the route to take . i'm better at maintaining a stack so sit n gos work best for me, especially on party poker where i'm pretty sure nobody actually knows how to play. but they're probably the least exciting and slowest but safest route.
I think it just matters what you're best at. I personally only play MTT and Sit and Gos. I lose way too much money at cash games.
I enjoy playing freerolls and sit n go's. I will not deposit, so if I can win free money from freerolls I am already ahead. It just supports my poker habit. Play smart with your bankroll and manage it well. A general rule of thumb is that I will not buy into a tournament that costs more than 5-10% my bankroll. The game changes only slightly from low cost buyins to higher cost (in terms of donkeys and suck outs). If you are playing poker, you should be doing so because you enjoy it as a pastime and it is fun to you. If you keep that perspective, winning only $1-10 per tournament should be enough, as you are not in any hurry to "hit it big" ( or more likely "lose it all"). Don't get greedy.
Playing the tournaments is safer than the cash games.
Sit-n-goes is a great way to build a bankroll, but it is usually very slow going. Cash games are a lot more profitable, but the swings are wild sometimes
The best way of earning some good money with online poker is to own a poker forum site or a poker room ........ :)

If I were you I would play low buyin tournaments with maximum value... This is especially good for making it big from low sums of money and builds great profitability. Micro Millions on pokerstars is a great advantage!

for me only sng when i play cash games i always lose :(
tourneys with no buy in , but with cash prices
and playing good ;)
