damn thats a punch in the gut hahah.. i hate when i fold the shit and it hits so hard.. but then again there are those times at least for me where im not focused and i fold the goods only to see i woulda got sucked out on.. keep playing good poker fold the shit in the end you will come out on top.Quote:

If in a hand like that, Id be happy to put my money in with 44 if roughly 10 percent of your stack is in jeapordy, because that situation played many times over you still lose. You are racing too many kickers. That being said pocket fours a worthwhile set mine if there are at least 20 BB or more in your opponents stack. That makes the implied odds worthwhile for all the times you miss the flop and have to fold.

if im sitting on 50k and there is only 5k worth of chips all in against me its worthwhile, because you are still playing on a strategy of minimal risk. That and once you reach the mid to late stages of a tournament knocking people out is more valuable. If you sit on 1500 and i sit on 1500 and some dude pushes all in for 300 i fold quick. if im in late position or even button and four people limp, and the table is playing the right way ( not much aggression) then the implied odds of calling is worthwhile. On average you will miss the flop 7 times and have to fold then that one time you hit you get paid off by the likelyhood of one of the many people seeing the flop connected in some way and will stay for some bets.
I think its depend on position, usual i call.

thanks everyone for the replys. ive purposely got short stacked a few times recently in an experiment and have tried your ways of playing to see which one pans out best for me. ive come to a new and also improved way of playing the short stack thanks to everyones info and look foward to implimenting it in my future games. thank you again everyone!!
i agree it definitely depends on the position.
I think you made a very good fold 44 vs 3 players with 5 cards to go.
JJ-22 i usually just limp in or re-raise if i got position.
