Showing your hole cards?
Greetings fellow PokerOwned players. I have a question and I would like to hear many opinions on the matter. When do you feel it is appropriate to show your hole cards to the other players at the table? How often do you do it, and in what situations? Thanks in advance for your replies.

if its live.. its definitely a no-no.. but online its almost impossible to prevent it.. If its heads-up hand, I dun think I have a problem with wit it since he's giving him/herself away.. But more than that, it should nt be dne though...
-
u can do it to create image of tight player or sth if u just show good hands or show a bluff if u want him to call u with worse hands he usually would... but these are the basics and its obvious so... dont show at all so its no + and no -
-
Most people say you should NEVER show your hole cards. May be true, but I'll show every so often just to mess with the other players...
-
ok wat i interpreted was showing during a hand.. when theres a decision to be made
-
It depends, if I do well in chips, and no show when I have paid to see, and after the river if nobody sees show whether he was bluffing or whether they were winning
-
just muck all the time and the question takes care of itself
-
I show almost all the time as a courtesy cause i for one will drive myself nuts wodering if they had me or not. But the best times to show is on a big bluff. It will be more likely to get you a call later on a big legit hand
-
depends what the buy in..............some players(good ones)know what/why you show what you show...............i swear the rabbit cam messes with some players head though............high buy ins never.........lol
-
Not on bluffs obviously, but you can show your bluff to make it seem your a bluffer and they will call you on big hands. Depends how you play and the situation.
-
As i saw Chris Ferguson say in a commercial for Full Tilt, sometimes it's good to advertise your bluffs(show them),makes ur oponents second guess themselves .
-
Yes, this is what I was referring to. When, why and how often do you show your hole cards AFTER everyone else at the table has folded?
-
i try not to show my cards but sometimes they are situations when it is good to show the others what u have;)... i think
-
i do it to put people on tilt. but sometime if i know the player out of respect i show them that i had the nuts.
-
I never show my hole cards unless i am stone cold bluffing my ass off. It makes players want to play on their emotions, which i find helps my get paid off when i have a big pair.
-
Yea, when ppl get steamed they start using their emotions, always gotta play smart not with your emotions.
-
golden rule is to never show your cards~!!!! :)
-
very seldom do I show hole cards,,,when I do it's just one,,never both
-
Never do-Never will not even 1 card
-
never show
it is never the right time to show, it is extra info that is not needed
-
I never show my cards in a ring game. Because if they bust out, they can rebuy to try to get their money back. In a friendly forum game and things are too slow, I will show cards about 3 or 4 times when I bluff to get callers when I eventually have a premium hand.
-
Normally I will never show them, shall all other guess what I had...
-
I show almost all the time me bluffing
-
yeah some guy showed his bluff in a toury the other day and put me on tilt, but Im on to him now for the future.
-
If it put you on tilt, then I guess it was effective. Perhaps I need to rethink, and show 'em sometimes.
-
i never show my cards, but carbon offers that you can show one card, both, none, rabbit cam, i love it! :)
-
Showing your cards can be a strategic move. Showing a bluff can help get your opponent on tilt!
-
It is a strategy move, sometimes I show and sometimes I look away so I dont see the others cards. Not really a good idea in ring games.
-
probably not a good idea to show your cards unless you are very intelligent...or at least more so than your opponents
-
I never show my cards, maybe I should to use it as a tactic ?
-

-
I will click the muck link 90 % of the time and leave it like that but towards the end of a game , if it's against friends then i will show them if i had the nuts sometimes, but only if i know the person and we get along well and then only sometimes
-
I also very rarely show my hole cards.
-
Usually i think itīs not advisable...But sometimes you can do it to ilude your opponents about your game (ex: if you are tight you show a bluff, and if you are loose you show a big hand...)
-
Never-But it can tilt a short stack if ya play cards right
-
Just sometimes it's good to show ur hole cards.Advertise ur bluffs, makes your opponents second guess themselves.
-
almost never only when i catch quads or straight flush. Its for screenshots :D
-
I only do it late game if it's tight and the game is getting boring. I'll bluff and show to hopefully encourage people to call me and trap them if I'm big stack, or if I'm short stack, I might decide to go on a few runs where I'm blind stealing against tight players, show them a mediocre hand, and hopefully get called when I get a decent ace. This is if i'm really desperate because the blinds are about to eat me. Otherwise, I don't unless I'm on merge. It's dumb, but I over rabbit >.<
-
When, where, timing, and what cards is all up to the player. To me there is no right answer for this. If you want to show your hole cards a lot go for it, if you believe in making people pay to see then so be it. Either way I usually show for 2 reasons: 1) to earn some respect at a table 2) to irritate someone who is heading towards tilt after I bluff them. In this scenario hopefully my showing puts him over the edge
-
It devs bad habits. Ppl should have to pay to see. also slows down the game while ppl decide whether to show or not. It's a dumb feature. That and rabbit as well.
