To respond or not to respond .. that is the question .. lol

So I am a lot more vocal than Mr D is ..I have a tendency to want to respond when someone calls me names. I am trying to behave and recognize they are just venting BUT ..; sometimes I just get mad .. especially when someone goes all in and I call because i just don't believe they have what they are representing and I win .. then they start calling me names .. like Nice Call Donk .. Fish .. etc .. really??? I respect bets when I believe them ..LOL .. anyway .. just wanting to know if this is the norm and I should just ignore it ..

Myself, I just ignore them,,,,Karma will take care of them,,, also if they have got caught with a bad move on their part,, it's easier to blame someone else,, instead of excepting the fact that they were the one who made a bad play.. We only improve if we look at "OUR" mistakes and learn...Take Care

I usually just say "lol" you either throw them off their normal game or they ignore you. Or jsut ignore them some sites have mute functions

Ignoring them is probably best ...

When I play live with buddies though the insults fly a little more often ... home game table talk, mostly in good nature ... but that's a different situation.

In your case Mrsdig they get mad because you outplay them take it as a compliment.

The best thing to do is turn off the chat. It cuts out all distraction. You see a real difference.

i don't get what this is about....

I sometimes play dumb when somebody calls me a donk or fish or whatever. There are definitely times when my bluff has failed miserably, making me look like a donk. I'll respond stupidly pretending that it wasn't a bluff and that I dumbly thought my hand was good. If the believe me and think of me a a total idiot, they will respect my bets much less and I can get callers when I hit a monster hand.

just try and ignore them...no reason to retort or try and reason with them on why you made a certain play...most of the peeps that are getting mad at you are the donks...most real players realize that sucking out is a part of poker and that there is no shame in it

i tell them i had them all the way when in fact i rivered them
this sends them off
at which point i mute them and watch them tilt off the rest of there stack
try it ....its very funny

On a side note I have noticed the poor players tend to be the ones running their mouths, when good players get a call like that they don't "tap the tank"
You can use this to your advantage and wait for them to be in a verbal exchange with someone else, because they will move onto another confrontation, and wait for them to screw up.

let it go and try to ignore them...you have the ability to disable player chat on an array of poker sites as well as outsider chat...the only time it is wise to respond to their chat is if you know the moves they are doing are going to hurt them in the long run then go ahead and keep praising them and allowing them to continue the bad play....trap em' for their whole stack

they really cant hurt u from sittin behind the puter

they want to engage u in dialogue so you loose your concentration so ignor them or lol them

Whenever this happens, and it will happen again, select the ignore button immediately. Trust me, it saves a lot of aggravation...unless of course, you feel like a good banter session..lol

i like to talk trash sometimes, i think its funny, i am guilty of tapping the tank sometimes but im working on it lol

If you have success and confidence in your style of play those are compliments. I always like to note that hand and replay it, your going to get more from your opponents game. They are giving you insight on what makes them mad, how they don't play and how they expect you to play them. Those are very beneficial, as the key is staying in what works for you, not what they want working for them.

totally agree, from someone who can talk and not talk depending on the game..dont say nothing at all..if it bothers you just disabled chat altogether..gl

I've completely turned my chat off at the tables now. I think that probably pisses them off more than responding to them.

I used ot respond, but then over time I finally just got to the point of blowing it off and not caring what the other person was saying.

i love being called a donk, it's usually after i bust someone because they suck and i didn't.

when people go off at you it is normanly a tell
i sometimes look up sharkscope at there stats
normanly there loseing players
it gives me the info i need to call them in a hard sit
what there really doing is saying that they suck at poker
and in time they will give all there chips away
