It sucks, since I already have my established way of playing, I have to fight my instincts and then it just creates this awkward losing middle ground that tilts me so bad. I know in the long run it will pay off, but I hate it!! I guess I need to stop multi-tabling too while I'm changing things up and trying new things so I can really focus. Bleh, I don't want to, but I will, cause I like winning.

Ah, I see you failed to pick up some of the subtleties of what I was saying. First off, I actually do like learning in general. Second, I am willing to learn more about poker. I guess more than the actual learning is that I hate when I have to learn to apply new knowledge, because it takes time to get the strategies down successfully. In the meantime my game goes downhill for a short period of time while I adapt. So really, I just hate losing, like most people.Quote:

I also have created different styles of playing myself. If I sense blood in the water at my table, I'll be very aggressive and bluff the pot. If I have success in bluffing the pot, I could leave a table with big winnings and never have had any good hands all night.
But I also hone my skills against good talent and love to try and hang with heavy hitters.
I'm not a fan of learning new poker stuff either persay, then again we could all stand to learn a lil something as far as the game goes as a whole or how we could potentially improve our individual game play. Good luck on the felts.

I would suggest limit games as well. The BR is much lower. Learn Omaha 8 and play .25/.50 with your friends. Cheap way to learn and it is very fun.

Read a lot of books but just have some cheap home games. The sad thing is that good players will tell you exactly what they are doing it and why...
Right now I'm just grinding away at FRs and micro MTTs. I know most people takes shots and don't worry about BRM until they get to a certain spot, but I'm following BRM from the very bottom. I created all new accounts a month ago and am slowly trying to build up my BRs on 4 sites to where I can at least start playing in the cheapest SNGs or FLHE tables. I'm even following BRM on LLBs!!
I think I'm already a solid player, but it's finding all of the little holes in my game so I can be a consistently winning player. It's taking the concepts I'm reading about and learning to apply them to my game is where I'm hitting the learning curve. And reading all the poker books I've learned that not all of the advice works for me. So it's trying to figure out if something that's new to me is just something I need to understand and apply better, or if it's something that just doesn't work with my style.
Honestly, the biggest hole in my game is pot odds. I understand the basic concept, but I just haven't motivated myself to mentally try and figure them out while actually playing.
I just feel that as poker players, we can get set in our own style of playing, and that sometimes it's hard to break out of that rut to improve our game. At least that's how I feel.
I haven't seen the video, but I have read the book. I don't play live much. I'm trying to see if I can scratch something out online, and then use that for some live buy-ins.Quote:
