How do you play Razz?

I don't know how I lost this pot...

I thought the object of the game is to get the lowest possible count? 21 to 25+9...

Razz has nothing to do with the count , It's just whoever has the lowest cards... if you have even 1 high card your hand is no good.

Best Razz hand is the wheel. Typically hands that qualify for Omaha lo are good Razz hands (8 high or lower). Here is a link for some Razz tips RAZZ STRATEGY.

razz will give you gray hair the key is to start with 3 cards all under 7

razz is lowball stud ... "count" doesn't apply

You might want to play more full ring before you play more HU ... kinda doing it backassward.

Basically the articles tell you to play the 'door/up' cards up to 8 and to play the '4th street' since there are so many twists and turns that enable big pots to become big losses at a fast rate.

Pairing cards is bad in Razz. I'm still not sure what it means but I think it has something to do with making your low threashold as a king high.

At the most basic level of razz ... yes pairing is bad. At a higher level its not necessarily a bad thing.

I have (2,3) A ... villian has (x,x) 7

4th street now I have (2,3) A 3 ... villian has (x,x) 7 K

4th street a bet there is highly recommended even though you paired. He doesn't know you paired ...one less good card for him with another 3 gone ... also he bricked. He lays his hand down often there ...

There's articles on this thread.

Razz is a game of drawing to the best possible low hand. It's not the same as hilo 8 or better games either. Any 5 cards can win the hand as long as they are lower than your opponets.

I think it's so ... play higher and lower .... there are always two winning by hand ...

Alot of people think that but if you only used luck in a game like razz you will never win. There is alot of strategy involved in razz.

he has a 9 low you have a jack low. the best hand is A2345. razz sucks play 2-7
