Is there any point 3-betting OOP?

Normally I'd 3bet here, but with the action UTG and +1, I'm a little leery. An effective 3-bet is roughly to 2500-3k, which is close to a quarter of my stack. I just got moved to this table, so no reads. With stacks this deep, I don't think it's worth losing 25% of my stack to a 4-shove. Just curious on what others think.

Without any reads on the players its indeed hard to decide, what about calling for 200 in a pot of about 2000 ?

I'm with Migo - and I'm also glad to see that not everyone thinks that AK (especially off), not to mention AJ, A10 and A9, is the absolute nuts preflop. It is, for goodness sake, just A-high.

This is a great 3 bet spot....I'd say 3 bet to 2,200 and get it in over a shove. When you 3 bet here its gonna look like a squeeze play so people are going to assume you hand range is going to be wider. I mean without information I think its better to 3 bet also just because we aren't going to be going for just cashing we are looking to find plus ev spots, and 3 betting here is plus ev for sure :)

I don't really think so much about his hand just the situation....he could 3 bet J10o here too which I'd like as well or something.

i have fold ak-a10 many times with more than one player all in pre with no problem, now hu, ak i roll with pre, if i miss the flop i have no problem with a laydown

I like the 3 bet idea, ESP with 2 short stax calling..and will give you an idea of the initial better's play

i would consider AJ a better hand than any pair up to tens almost all the time a pair in the hole gets beat.thats like 75% of the time a pair in the hole gets beat.with someone holding AJ,AQ,AK.At least thats what ive been seeing.for about 10 years now.

small pairs in the hole are tricky that is why i like to see flop first

of course, if you got one guy going all in before flop with ak you stand a very good chance with call

Utg raised which his stack almost same as yours, and two callers, you call, don't 3 bet call and see flop, if you were short stack you push, but as is with no read you're 30% to win right now at best, at least one if not two of those players have pp

I would say its a safe call with an AK, but I wouldn't be surprised to get shoved on if you 3bet in this situation. 4 people already called thr raise so I wouldn't doubt that at least one of them thinks their hand is gold.

2 betting out of position, is there any point where it is profatable to 3 bet out of position? If u are crazy and have balls of steel, then yes 3 bet out of position with medium holdings preflop. Sometimes 3 betting is better than flat calling. And usually 3 bettng is better than flating.

Being you have no read on the players and being you might be sweating having to start the action post flop as BB if you don't catch a pair, I would probably just call and wait to see the flop first. You can always add value post flop if you catch your hole cards.

If you want to gamble and win the turny right then , then by all means 3bet call a shove.. but as we all know(i dont think most do) you cant win the turny til final 2. so going for the win before you make the final table is a gambler thought not a poker players thought..

Even with a good flop AK here is scary since you know one or two are set mining and big stack is fishing for a pot worth playing in.. Id flat and see what flops can either toss em pretty easily if you whiff or if ya hit ya can throw out a nice feeler bet.

im 3betting here all day for value. you don't wanna have AKo and go up against 4 other players. if u get 4bet then just flat and see the flop, no reason to 5bet shove 65bbs.

btw, 2.5-3k is waaaaaay too big of a sizing. with all those players in the pot and ur hand not being suited i'd make it 3.5x-4x at the most
