sit n go's are a different kinda animal. Not a mtt, it takes a different approach... bunch a coin flippers needs a different outlook. It's a game of pickin spots, not really makin moves.. Maybe I'm wrong... comments?

that is 1 table sng's btw
i think it is important to try and get over the average early on especially in turbos for example in the bcp turbo sngs i have been playing u start with 1500 and i make a point to try and steal the blinds and get up to at least 2k in the first two orbits that way u are able to sit back and wait for ur hand. the 1 hand per hour rule really doesnt work in the bcp sng format.
you are correct. gotta pick spots but if you notice on bcp you play the same players over n over all day. i take lots of notes and catch their routines
You still see coin flippers in these though. Really sucks if they hit cause they will keep doing it LOL but as said you have to pick your spots and play it hard or with caution
Those are mostly turbos. There are some sngs that have 45 players.
sit and go is my favorite. head to head is the best way to play
i prefer sng 7dollars buy ind Heads up :)
The only downside to the sng's nowadays is they are mostly turbo variations of the game. Not necessarily a bad thing but your game play is definitely different when playn a sng versus a mtt tourney. Once you have a feel for the table and the playn style of those around you then that's all you need. Good luck on those felts.
play tight early on! That is key esp in turbo sngs.....don't bust early on and then start playing after about 3 levels
Agreed on the need to be patient, but don't sleepwalk through the early levels.
yeah i prefer turbos my self. i def. have learned that tight is right in the early stages. that's something i didn't do when i first started out playing.
i personally try to avoid all ins when at all possible(negreanu style) but seems the agressor tends to get the favor. play at bcp and last 2 or 3 knockouts ive made clear donk all in calls w/ weak As and theyve had 3/5 3/4 and the likes and won w/ bottom pair. and on the flip when ive placed and had chip lead at points was pushin w weak and catchin
putting someone also all in for portion always beter than calling yourself allin...
Sit and gos are a completely different game. Such a great thread! good job!
I dont see how you play $5 trnys for 6 hrs. to cash for 16... sng's are a lets get it going type thing
