I totally agree with you, TT, JJ and QQ are very hard to play. It looks quite strong and that makes them so hard to fold. Lost a lot of hands with those suckers because my ego got in the way.

hard to play, have to lay the hand down sometimes
If you end up losing a lot with them, play them like a smaller pair. No need to get into a big pot when you know you will be 50 50 at best.
It's not that hard to play the Jacks when you have a good read on your opponents. It depends also if you are playing cash or tournament. And It is a tournamet , its really more hard to play them , but you have to know that they are just a pair as 44,55 ,66 .. For example
lets suppose that your opponent raise from midle position in a tournaemnt in the mid game you 3bet him , and now he is 4 betting you. What should you do?Did he really 4bets with hand weaker then JJ ,is he bluffing or makeing a value 4 bet ? To answer this questions , you really need to have some good reads on your opponents
just play them like usual pockets.. if you hit the 3rd it's ok , if not.. fold.
hard to call....but I've won with them more than lose with them
i hate those pockets jacks lol , i most of times loose big with them
Ofcourse its tricky and hard to play someetimes. you definitively should play it in position. But I dont recommend to fold it in early position automatically when you are about average stack. I dont think its even super tight, its just stupid play to fold it. Just make proper raise, maybe little more than normal, like 4-5 BB (to get some informations, if someone call that big raise made from early position, he probably has really good hand, than be carefull on flop) and see whats gonna happen.
Sometimes play like a small pair (Fold if you don't hit set), sometimes play like an overpair (bet if there's not much resistance) -- Really depends on your read on your opponent.
I've won some hands with JJ, but I've lost some big ones (particularly live). I also seem to get BEAT by this hand often, so steamed.
if you're a tourney player, then ICM says JJ is pretty damn strong. You just need to know when to push and when to fold. If you raise and get a couple callers and then 2 overcards come, and you push on, then you pretty much bring your doom to yourself.
the suicide cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1221
Sometimes i limp with JJ or will call a raise and if i am late in tourney i just go with them..
jesterday i went down again holding pocket jacks even i hit one more on flop but running into triple Queens
pocket jacks just made me basically bubble and miss the money by three positions in the quarter quicky this morning with my last 30 cents...
i had ace king suited
Every time I play them I get beat bad, soI really slow play them and hope
JJ probally the toughest hand in poker to play
Never play JJ online only if limp action ! Live love them!!
I like JJ because for hitting a set you can get aot of money out of your opponent. On the flip side they can get u in aot of trouble.
Folding them would be dumb. Jacks are a good starting hand. 2 many people overvalue them because they are a face card though. Treat it like pocket 10's or 9's not Q's or K's. I would be 2 times the blind at the begging. If the flop is low 3 or 4 bet. From there its your call.
pair of jacks good hand
actually winning again holding jj
another pocket jack facing pokent kings, but lucking jack in the flop final hand to get into cash :)
Everybody hates a pair of Jacks they are a bad luck hand.
pair of jacks good hand!
Lotta good information in this post. Thanks everyone
As of late I hear people talking about how JJ is so hard to play. It's bs, shit give my pocket JJ I will show how to play them.
But deep in a tourney don't overplay JJ, you will get into a lot of sticky situations. Cash games are a different story.
today went well with them again
late position play J's for a potsized raise outta position with 5 or more players raise if u think 2 or 3 will fold otherwise limp and set mine if u miss and therz an over check fold safest way to handle them i think.
I second opnd.
I remember a one tournament...actually from this site...Got pocket jacks, around three hands twice, the last one was lost to runner runner flush on the turn agaisnt K high lol then again got aces. lucky eh? :D
K Q off- suit
Pocket anything can cause you to lose. I see pocket Aces smacked in the dirt all the time.
I agreed, but, that time i got lucky...winning odds, with pocket aces, 84.94%...preflop lol. anything could happen,
they will crack all sorts of hands - pocket pairs, russians for example who are always getting lucky
on the turn, or the river...
and today i lost my set of kings, to a flush...Q high...stupid thing....feels frustrated from these freelols
this will always happy but you are in front in the begionning so dont mind to play these high pocket pairs
