I am pretty solid in tournaments, but I suck at cash... Suggestions?
play tournaments and not cash
don't play cash till you have plenty to lose, then play with me ONLY :)
cash games are so much better than trnys but i wont get into why
I prefer tournaments.. But cash games sometimes are good money making depends who's playing
I am the same way. I think its the style of tournaments vs cash games. Tournies are for length...so people are more prone to folding a decent hand just to secure their next hand. Either way, I'm terrible at cash games, but I do play the .01/.02 tables for fun lol. I would recommend either playing the micro table cash games or just stick to tournaments. In general, its better to be an expert at one thing than kind of good at everything...
I had to try many different methods out before I got comfortable at cash games. I actually never expected to end up playing the style that I do now when I started, but it was only after learning about BR management that I was able to play with the right mindset for winning with the style that fits me.
Play better in cash games then bro or mis
Perhaps because everyone does not have same value in cash games
100 buks to someone may be something completely different to another person cuz
Cash games are the best games
stick to one game plan. Be a master at that game , and then work on moving up to play against better masters at that level
Play on Merge's systems, and play everyhand that isn't AA, AK, KK, QQ, JJ, KQs, or TT. You'll make money lol
cash games are bad for players who do not have a good BR, somebody who has hundreds is worrying about losing a few bucks they way you would worry if it was your whole BR.. stay with Mtt for now until you have yourself a good sized BR... thank you can try and dip your feet in the water again!
Where are you seated ?
I'm not good at cash games either but, that's because I'm not willing to do what it takes to win and that is find the worst players analize there betting patterns and take advantage of them.
Its So simple... start by playing small stack strategy. AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT, AK, and AQ are the only hands you play - Your goal is to get all-in preflop. If your stack is small enough, you'll probably get a call even if you've folded 50 hands in a row because (at small limits) there is almost always someone that says "fuck it" and calls you with J9 or Ace-rag.
You might lose, which is why you need to have at least 20 buy-ins before you attempt to play cash.
AQ vs J9 wins only ~ 2 out of 3 times. Losing with a premium hand 20x in a row is possible, but incredibly unlikely.
Try it - see what happens.
u need to reduce your OR hands, and try not bluff much likeu do in tournaments, check which one hand are good for Cold Call nd Raise 4Bet, and u need to use 3Bet more often than a tournament
cash games are dangerous if you arent playing at the right stakes...
they can make or break you
Yes,I use to play on juicy stakes would win some money on there free roll and then go to the cash tables and lose it all since there was a minimum 500 withdraw .People wouldn't go all in though they would give a good preflop raise and kept betting no matter what until they were all in.Took me a minute to catch on.
just keep playing what wins you the most
Just work on your tourney skills and focus on that... Cash games are the toughest for everyone.... Seems you get beat with second best hands in losing streaks.... sometimes it goes the other way.... not as much skill involved as tourney strategy.... you get sucked out more
I propose instead to start playing cash games or tournaments micro sng. For starters are better than the cach
it's like anything else. you need to practice enough and youll get better eventually. switch things up too when u feel it
cash is more the sit back but tight agressive style....the pressure is when ur playing with scared money or buyin in for min...which is a no no....i like to show some bluffs and then catch them for a big pot....works everytime
I enjoy both. Maybe try sticking to HU cash games until you can pick up a good cash game BR. After that then try your hand at the Ring Games. Good Luck!
It's all about practice and playing I think over time you learn how to play cash games. Watch some youtube videos also.
Get some practice and definitely learn to fold your lower cards. Identify the premium hands and lerarn how to play each. Buy a basic holdem book, or do some extensive studying. Good luck.
Much agreed if you have a few hours to spend in them.
I've played Tahoe before, but can't remember the game now, Same with Pineapple. I've never heard or 3 toed pete.
I would stick to what you can win on, and then use your winnings to play micro level stakes. Patric is right, fixed limit games are a very good way to start.
Really a lot of depends on how the cards are rolling sometimes, I've been killing the cash games lately but, I've been hitting my flushes just got through playing on a 10/25 cent table on Bcp,joker put a good preflop raise in I called with pocket 99's the flop comes with two more 99 now I have quads and he puts a post flop bet I went all in and the dummy called with air, anyway try going up a little if your in the .01/.02 that way people will actually fold to your bets and there not as likely to use a short stack strategy on you and yes there are plenty of donks left at this level.
try different games. maybe you're not a holdem player but would be good at something else. i think different games fit different people
Same here...... don't know why :(
I am certain that if I were proficient at cash games that it could be more profitable than tourneys-too bad that i am not quite there yet.
