i scream and yell alot, im not kidding, neighbors have complained, then i calm down and slow my play down. the question is why r u playing. the money, fun, ego, WHY? i only play for the money thats it. ive always won money gambling , im going to make a post on it. if u r only playing 1 game at a time it would be boring , try 2,3 or 6 and u will be too busy to be impatient.

i just accept the fact that you are not going to win a tournament in the first 5 minutes, so it is easy for me to just relax and let the game come to me. you have sooo many aggressive people online that if you just wait for a solid hand you can make huge strides instead of grinding out a little each hand with mediocre hands.

I generally listen to music, but if people really can't concentrate I suggest either playing less or playing cash games

QQ KK AA are all hands that might cause me to proactively get all my chips in the pot. This does depend on position and amount of players already in the pot prior to me. If I am late position and already have a couple in the pot and early in a tourney, AA is the only hand I will call an allin with. I like Zab have mucked my share of KK early in tourneys.

i just focus on whats going on at the table and listen to some music to make sure i have some side entertainment

I was close to the money and stupidly went all in and lost just a minute ago,It sucked so bad.

First of all.poker is a marathon game, not a sprintpatience is chosing carefully staring hands, and folding garbage hands, which will slice your bankroll, going all in with one hand even it's A A or KK could be very costly if you lose, because AA or KK,is not a warranty to win a hand, that's why some poker room offer a bonus for aces cracked, so be careful with AA and don't go all in, you might call all in if you are against one player, but going all in if there is more than2 opponents is a suicide, and your aces or kings could get cracked very easy
-
If u are going to play tourny poker,, then u have to have a lot of patience in the first place,, thats what its all about. lol
-
i dont really defend my blinds
i just play my cards and try to trap
so if someone keeps doing it
sooner or later i wake up with a hand
flat call check the flop and then rerasise his post flop bet
do this a couple of times and he will stop doing it lol

Before the flop only pocket A good but all in before the flop is a very weak play. With pocket A or pocket K you want to get a big pot, and with all in you can win money just from the idiots.
-
patience patience patience. you gotta know when to fold...unless your all in pre-flop then its up to the poker gods. all in with AA before the flop twice in one day and pocket queens called both times and turned quads, not a good day
-
in tourney play...try to make friendly discussion at the table....this can work for you or against you depending on where the conversation heads but you can always attempt reverse psychology or bluffing about your play style to throw ppl off....and can keep you thinking about something besides the cards that is really just as important - the other players.... careful with this at cash tables a lot more "shark" type players there already using similar strategies IMO.

I don't know where I have practice patiences through the game, but I feel like the time getting faster while half-focus on the tables.
I usually multi tables so that's make a good practice to concentrated then just one table.
I just Ah did I just play 11 hours of Poker.

I have tried alot of what has been said here and still can't seem to get into the money if there are more than 2000 people in the game when people knock me out with 3 7 to my A Q i lose it and go on tilt. this is something that happens to me all the time maybe i just suck at cards.
-
I always lose my patience late in the game. Usually it's when I'm in the money but I'm sort of starved for chips, but I MAYYY not necessarily be in a shove/fold situation. I get a decent hand that I only play because I'm a little chip starved.
Oh and in freerolls, especially the FullTilt daily ones, I don't even exercise patience unless I get a sizable lead in the beginning.

Nice poem about poker games! I think insnt about fulltilt poker, because this site isnt so cool now!

this is a serious problem for me and to be perfectly honest i have to have at least one beer in me to do soo
-
these are some good tips except folding KK thats just crazy but then again ive seen AA lose on plenty of occasions
-
Dang thats plum crazy.lol
-
I play multi-tables that way I'm not bored and make a bad play.
-
I play multi tables its keeps you occupied when 1 game isnt enough for you, play everyhand as it comes along and forget the last hand played, as thats in the past and it wont hurt you again as long as you learn from mistakes that is.
when you want to reveiw hands and see what you done wrong or what you could of done go on hand history at the end of game and study the better plays..... such as should i of folded? called? raised there is very rarely a hand i play that i thought was perfect, even when i raised... was it too much? too little?... well depends if you try to take the pot there and then or get others to add to the pot.
there are lots to think about. cash games you are trying to build the pot before taking it down with either a bluff or a monster hand. tournaments your trying to stop your oppenent from making a hand by making him believe you've got one or its too much for them to put money in with what little they've got. keeping this in mind it shouldnt get to boring to quick
