Holy cow where were you a couple days ago? I've looked long and hard for this type of intelligent analysis. Thank you so much! Now I finally see the light! I can't believe I didn't know this all this time.
What an amazing 10th post! The entire sight can now bask in the glory of your wisdom. Bow before kobra80!
Not saying that ya'll are wrong. But there are dynamics to hands and table settings that it appears that most of ya'll do not understand. And explaining it to you would be -EV
I've certainly seen worse. Example a monster stack calling a 5bet with 86 off with a raise and allin in front of him. The allin in player was half of his stack and the other was a shorty.
sometimes the hook or line do break dude when fishing and they get lucky, just throw your rod back into the water and keep fishing soon or later you will catch that wicked tuna ..gl at the tables
I agree with sickread. If you get it all in pre with A - rag you are at best 60-40 and at worst 9-91(against aces) and most often 27-73, which creates a negative equity against a 3 bet. I understand if you are trying to play aggressive, but when the blinds are so super high you have to pick your spots better or know how to put enough pressure on him to get him to fold K-7 (for example open shoving instead of small raising). I think you made a bad play here even if you think you have the best hand because unless you know for a fact you have him dominated, you create negative equity. If you felt you had him beat the best move would have been to call the 3 bet and make a flop judgement. Even though in my opinion I don't even call the 3 bet here because even against a hyper aggressor it's asking for trouble. That's why I'd let him control the preflop and I'd take control of the flops. I'd play very loose passive preflop and take advantage of him after flops come out. Then if he donks out then at least you played optimally.
sounds like he read you and beat you..... what's the big deal? why call PokerPoned an idiot?
fish gon fish ? if you know that , then let them bite. dont hate the fish. lure em in .
Well, that sure sounds like good logic. So he read that he was behind, heads-up, then called himself essentially all-in with K7 offsuit. I'd never considered that, TomKat. What an impressive display of empathy you've demonstrated. Clearly you understand poker on a level that many of us will never know.
Please, enlighten us some more on the dynamics of this particular hand.
