The title was kinda misleading towards my opinion obv, but as a serious question, your decision to call all ins, how much of it just because you would like to bust the opponent (therefore widening your range of hands), and how much of it is because its a +ev move to make based on read and confident your hand is the better one preflop? I see a lot more donkish kind of moves people will make for competitive reason rather then profit, so whats your opinion?
Interesting one! My opinion is that I would like to move all-in when I have much more bigger chance to win like my opponent ... and doing so preflop is a huge advantage to got overpair pocket against some smaller ... so it is like 80:20, I won't do this for flipping like 22 into XY (X, Y > 2) :) or so. Hopefully everyone understand this post :)
Im only calling a allin if im very confident i have best hand going in and not just a coin flip

Cashing is what it's about. Sometimes trying to bust out someone can backfire and after a while they can bust you.
calling someone to bust them out is a tilt move and ergo is BAD!
depends solely on the situation. for the most part, no - and I don't hold grudges. If someone sucks out on you, your goal should not become to get your chips back from that player - it should be to win the tourney. I'll call to bust someone if I have some kinda coordinated hand - Flyswatting, which to me means I have 10x the stack whose all-in I'm calling or pushing
There are a lot of factors to calling all in just to bust someone out. I look at my position and how much I have. I also look at how the person has been playing. I don't want to make a wrong call and end up loosing my chips to a donk.
Like others have said, a lot of the decision to call an all-in with any given hand depends on the relative chip stacks. But if you are asking whether we will try to bust someone out because they "deserve it" - no, generally I will work very hard not to let emotion cloud my play, although I might talk smack to put them on edge. It is somewhat gratifying to see the true donk get his come-uppance, but I won't risk chips to do it if I don't have the cards.
I am going ftw all day..and if I bust a few that I don't like in the process that's even better....but if some one is just aiming to bust a certain someone and will do what ever to accomplise that is a dummy lol just my opinion
I'm just playing to build my chip stack. If I focus on that, other players will naturally eliminate themselves. I will call a players all in if his stack is short, is less than 10% of mine, and there are no other opponents in the hand that are a threat to me.
I don't call just to bust people out. I call if I think my cards are better.
id just play to cash. if you single someone out you will def play more loosely.
i don't know?i see players make some of the stupidest calls just to try eliminate others even at the early stages
i actually find it really annoying when people don't really play and just push chips around…it makes the game retarded and all luck/suck out based
I don'y play to bust people and I usually am not thinking about sqweeking higher into the money. I Try to play good poker and if I have to bust or go bust in any given hand I will.
I definitely play to cash and not to bust people, as a matter of fact I generally avoid bounty games.
I play to win cash...seems like if I play to bust others out, I am soon on tilt. Also, it's hard to try to get someone out. Seems like it I go on tilt and try to target someone...I become the target and lose.

This thread doesn't seem to be taking off to its full potential.... go for that kill on occassion when you know for sure you have the nuts.... teach that other player not to fuck with you.... he'll never forget if you wipe him clean... Yeah ! turn his pockets wrongside out and send him home to cry to his mama... it would be his fault to let it happen... bust his ass if he's weak and feel the power... go buy your mama something with your sweet winnings... Lol....
I play to cash and if I bust others along the way then that's good for my stack.
But last two tournys today my pocket A's lost to pocket Q's to bust me, followed by my pocket j's losing to pocket 10's to again bust me, so next tourney I'll be playing to place top 40(aka shit) and call it a day.....

it all depends. Everyone tightens up at the bubble. I you got a good chip stack take advantage of that shit!

I usually play tight at first and then try to build a stack when it gets closer to half the field. From there I'll play on all ins if I think I have the best of it.
I gotta agree with it all being situational. Come bubble time if I'm sitting on a good stack ill be much more likely to call an all in.
when u get in the cash u have to put it all to risk so u would get profit form the times u didn`t get into cash
to answer your title question, i play to cash cause i don't really care about busting someone.
to answer your inquiry, i hate calling all-in's, i only call if i've got a much bigger stack than the person that shoved and I've got a pretty good hand.
I would also consider calling an all-in if I felt that I had a much better hand.
My play on this note depends on my mood...if I really wanna sit thru the whole thing...if I have other better ones to focus on...these are other factors for me personally that will affect my tourney play...speaking freerolls
Play to cash, even in bounty games, cuz it never helps to be risky.

i play to win, busting people isnt the main dutie, but its gotta be done in tournaments or to win a pot i guess. soooo i guess it comes down to doing what i have to in order to win. also its fun.
i play to come in second. what ever it takes to get there.
The only person I care about busting is the other guy when there is just the two of us left.
It really depends on how the table is playing. I will usually adjust my play if a table is loose, tight, etc.
