People overrate AK, that's what I say..
i prefer 78 than AK...it's more constructive:p
i agree with you. i see many times peoples goes all in with AK:p
well if you figure that 4/10 times it hits you are generally winning those hands. Lets say you win those hands 3/10 times. So 30% winning chance when A or K comes out. Now you have to factor in that you will usually be able to get people off other hands because of AK betting, maybe that happens 1/10 times. This gets fractioned down to about 1/20 or 5%. Also can add in % if suited i suppose, lets say 5% if suited. So with my calculations you should be winning 40% of the hands you have AK. Now that seems like an extremely low number, yes. But perhaps you are overplaying them.
AK is the shyt. most just play it wrong. way better than jack ten i tell you what!
This quote right here is proof that people overplay AK all the time. People play AK like it should never lose, and they're so afraid that they're gonna get beat by something they have deemed a weaker hand that they'll push all in preflop every single time. This way if they lose they can bitch and say I can't believe you called my AK with those rags and act like the other person is a donkey. When really its their own fault for forcing the action the way they did not giving themselves a chance to fold when they completely miss the flop. It amazes me how many times people push 2k+ in chips into a $15 pot and the blinds are only 5/10... unless I have aces I'll just fold and be like you can have those 15 chips, I'd rather them waste a good hand cause they were too scared to see a flopped then waste my chips because they decided to overplay their hand, you know what I mean!!
Two high cards are supposed to be good right? Well maybe 80% of the time....
without a dought in my mind
I fold AK sometimes, when I know another person probably would have called all-in. So not too sure bout that. Think for a week everytime I get a certain two cards, im going to go all in... not great strategy - rather poor thinking but I need to crush some of you AK all inners.
Just the second hand of the 10 o'clock tourney there's a guy at my table who pushed all in and everyone folded.... luckily he rabbit hunted and we all saw he had AK.... its like what I was saying earlier, people are so afraid to lose with ace king they push all in when the pot is so minimal. 2000 bet in order to win 40 chips
I would say I do,but 88 has been my nemesis crushed me every single time :(
I usually loseall in pre with AK. They usually have K2 or something and hit the 3 outer lol.
i kept running into 8\'s last night too couldn\'t beat them, and then i got them a few times as well and couldn\'t win with them lol
i wud say raise a bit and hope for the best if no luck then too bad but dont chase for a pair too hard specially on the turn if bet too high thn u shud probably fold .
Yea people over play AK but I play AK agressively cause you can win more and lose less with that hand.....unlike AA or KK. Great Risk/Reward hand.
AK is my favourite hand. but i always bet hard pre flop on it otherwise often people with small cards kick you out
AK is one f the hands that can make win or lose a lot
incorrect spelling of too; it's too much hope, not to moron. and no, AK is a very good hand.
AK is a very good hand but a lot of players overplay the hand.
yep me included i over play it sometimes but only if its suited
yep me included i play it aggressive but only if its suited
hmm, in position I like to raise it, otherwise it will be a call
Its quite stupid when you play in tourney and someguy pushes All-in with AK and some other calls him with any pocket and wins. AK is very good hand but to be honest it isent hand for pushing All-in preflop. Usually its good to make a 3-bet and after flop if you hit just make pot-raise and if you get calls then you can All-in at river if you have nothing else to be afraid of and you have best hand in your mind.
