my philosophy, a big cash game is a tournament win reward
But a big cash game loss is also like 20 buyins for tourneys... its a tradeoff. Cash games are normally more consistent profit. Tournaments have huge payouts for first but you lose a lot more
when I play in cash games I'm always one upped. Earlier today I was playing and just a short while I had a hand where I flopped 2 pair and someone turned a higher two pair. I had a hand where I flopped a set, and someone else flopped a higher set. I also had a hand where I flopped top pair with king kicker and flush draw, I never made the flush draw and ended up losing to top pair with an ace kicker. It happens constantly like that when I play cash games. The few hands I win are always for minimal cash and the hands I lose I have a big hand but like I said am always one upped so its always for a bigger pot.
It depends. I think the variance is higher on cash games, but there's nothing better for your bankroll than finding a whale on tilt at a cash table.
Ring play is by far a better situation for me than tourney play. Its way more about money management and table selection than the whatever tourney play shit. I want to get better at tourney play but then I sit down at a ring table and wonder why the hell I waste my time at all in tournies.
I wish I could play more cash games, when i do walk away with money it's at the very least double what I sat down with, but like i said a couple post ago I keep getting one upped and then I start playing scared because it seems like it doesn't matter what I have, I'm always beat.... I feel like i could flop a royal flush at a cash table, and still somehow lose a showdown lol
I am putting together a series, if you want to call it that, of blog posts this coming week on ring play, I will let you know so you can read through it if you want for maybe a bit of insight/viewpoints for ring stuff.
yeah that sounds good I know I could use the help and it couldn't hurt to read em
Now that US players are so limited in places to play it is much harder to win in tourneys IMO. Cash games are harder then what the used too. I prefer playing in tourneys. I just wish I could still play them on stars or absolute. lol
cash is more consistent and stable flow wise but man are tourneys fun lol. i can tilt and not pay $200 out the ass later on
the time goes faster in ring games - tourments can drag on and on
tourney 4 me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!122
I think more money than the competition
when i play cash games i play extremely tight! only stick to premium hands and play post-flop. no way in hell i am going all in pre-flop not even with AK. i am still having a hard time getting over with losing to some donk who called my pocket AA with 68 and won! in the long run this is very profitable. and of course multi-table is a must. otherwise you will get bored of your tight play and lose your ass soon and realize all your money is gone with one single gamble. cash games are easier because the blinds are not going up as in tournaments. nothing is forcing you to make big calls pre-flop or take unnecessary chances.
i always play mmt but in last time i like more cash games
just got knocked out from a freeroll. at times i really can't accept that online poker is not rigged in some cases...
I think playing tournament is better than cash as the prizes are greater if you can get into final table
i think its worth waiting a while to get a made hand and then give your on table chips a 2x boast or more rather than playing for hours in a tourney only to get blinded out or knocked out by a bad beat.
i like ring and mtt play, i make good money on ring play, but as well i loose more on ring too vs mtt play
yes mmt is god but cash games is real poker ...
It really all depends on your play style. If you can be patient, a good cash game will be plenty profitable. I prefer cash game, because you HAVE to get lucky to take first in tournament against other decent players, whereas you will usually profit in a cash game unless you get unlucky.
Cash games are dangerous for poor players or players with more than 5 percent of tilt factor.
Cash games give your more consistent profit while tournaments might get you huge amount of money at once.
I like limit cash games more.
I try to mix it up and play a little of both. They are both lots of fun.
I only like cash games or bounty tourneys.
depends on the structure of the MTT. I like cash games bunch of donks on merge.
cash games are alot easier to many donks to dodge in mtts
bounty tourneys are a lot of fun, i do better in tourneys
tourney is the way to go much more fun imo
I prefer tournament play to cash game
i am confused now because just recently started playing ring games its similar to intra day in stock markets lots of ups n downs tourneys r less stressful so if u have a healthy balance on ne particular website wud b gud to play more of tourneys but if u trying to work up a balance u gotta play cash games then u can take it easy once u hav a healthy balance i feel this.
Im hitting the cashgames and freeroll tourneys at the moment to build up my br. Im gonna start playing some tourneys once my br has increased a bit.
I think tournament play gives you a larger prize pool with less risk than ring games.
tournament !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!12223
I can't play cash games for s#@%,, so I stick with tournaments.
I played tournaments way more. Lack of money didn't allow me to play more cash. When I did play, people went nuts with the raises. That's one of the reasons I like tourneys more, you must be careful with your chips.
if u win ...it is ..if not is a big lose of money :D
i honestly like mtts...but cash is where its at...plo cash ofcourse....there is far more risk/reward in cash....make good move n get paid off...mtt u make good move u get chips...dont gaur u anything
