Poker skills are helpful in determining who wins and loses but luck still prevails in most aspects of the game. Don't argue cuz you all know it's true. Also, just because the government are hypocrites and run lotteries themselves doesn't mean it's good for people or smart. Have any of you read the horror stories from winners of these lotteries after they won the money? Besides, the whole thing is "rigged" to get the house or government money and what do they do for it? Put a roof over your head. Legalization of poker at the federal and state level will open up home games to all and that's where I would play. Screw the casinos and the government, the only reason lotteries are legal is because they tax the living sh&t out of it. Even if it were legal they still wouldn't get my rake or tax money, I'd play home games with my friends and I'd only charge a cover fee for beers.

Or are they gonna legalize poker in a casino or government run facility only and all home games are going to be banned and made illegal if not already? They can't control it and they know it. This is one big reason that it hasn't been legalized at the federal level because money is really all they care about and if they can't guarantee they get it.........

I hope this finally gets resolved, playing poker is a game of skill but I wouldn't turn down having a little luck along with it being skpilled would go a long ways

Here in Texas home games are legal already as long as there is no fee or rake taken. I could be wrong but I think one of the main excuses the gov was holding up USA online poker sites was that it was a game of luck not skill.. like I said could be wrong...
