That's sounds interesting hehe :D

Wow I just read she started at age 3!
an 8 year old poker player, that's awesome. i would like to see the kid play.
hey learn em young lol
hes the next poker pro at full tilt
I for one dont think its cool that someone is teaching there 8 year old to play poker. Even charity events pay out so how is that not gambling? You must be at a gambling age to gamble. Teaching an addiction at such a young age is very disturbing to me. Now from this story alone i can see alot of degenerates teaching there kids to play poker. DISGUSTING!!!
I've worked with kids and dont think this is a problem. She is well balanced by taking part in other activities. Poker is just another hobby like baseball or basketball kids do at that age. She has learned 50 games and is learning a game of patience, skill and deep thought. Take you typical American 8 year old and you will find a bumbling idiot.
or I could be wrong and she will be a degen by 12. :)
Cool story, poker players are getting younger and younger.
I started around this age
Never underestiment your opponents, now we know that :)
When you're a good poker player it's not really gambling. I think it's a great idea to learn poker at any age it's a game of skill.
good for her
It doesnt say anywhere she is playing poker with her friends does it? I have no problem with playin cards with your kids. that is not what i meant.. But going to a "charity event" is where i draw the line. In alot of states it has to be a "charity event" in order to hold a game, where the vfw or where ever its played takes around 50% of the pool just cause they can. But and i have played in many of these events, it is a game of buyins and payouts which make it gambling and no child should be at any of these events playing poker...... I also do believe that NL holdem is a game of skill along with some other variants but most of them 50 games are luckfest mechanical games kind of like your dealer choice games at home. Regardless of whether its a game of skill or not when you put a buyin in, it becomes gambling and no 8 year old can understand any of these games fully to be gambilng. why not teach your kid the skill of begging on the side of the road? Cause its not appropriate. Im not saying dont teach the kid card games but to put them in a live event is going a little far, especially for a kid who has many other interest and with them many other interest theres just no way she can understand what its all about. Even pros still learn daily so to say a 8 yr old has mastered 50 games of poker is a unreal analogy.Kudos to her if she is still playing in 10 years but i highly doubt she will be..
thats top i think she is talented and should enter PO freeroll and take MIT out with his big donk mouth
I can believe it. Poker is a pretty simple game to learn from a fundamental point of view.
I believe I signed up for FTP at the age of 8.
7 years later, hm.
She is a doll. Good for her!!
nicee, very cool
Yeah i learned from my father around the age of five to play poker and here i am still,i also learn how to play chess at the age of 6 now thts a hard game to learn trust me!
^^ this learning the basic fundamentals of the game isnt hard to believe and so what if she is playing in live events? if it wasnt seen to be ok the organizers wouldnt let her enter surly and what better way to teach a child the value of money very simply heres your pocket money lose it you dont get any more for a month, and boom job done with the right nourishment and coaching so that the child does NOT develop a problem i really do not see an issue with it
when i see the tiltle 8 yr old poker player i thought oh no not another post about lilg97 lol
i learned as a kid to play poker also but it was 5 card draw.
crazy, absolut crazy, much too young in my opinion
i really dont get why people have a problem with this sort of thing it baffles me
too funny doj has a new target
Yeah this is definitely pretty weird
ooh what we have 8 years old and play poker ??? what??? lol
