It is about deception, but some players don't understand that consistently betting a trash hand and check-calling with the nuts will lose them money in the long run, you need to lightly season your deception.

If you have a good hand you should always raise. If you have a bad hand you should always fold. No one will ever pick up on your strategy.
That's how you have to play on Merge. Otherwise you won't hit your good hand and all the donks will fold :)
