I am new to poker so this may not be the best advice, but if I get a pocket pair of anything 7 or lower I will throw it away without thinking twice after the flop if I hit nothing. I will also throw them away preflop if someone bets big. The way I look at it is as best you have 2 outs... the range of hands your opponent could have if they are betting high pre flop means they either have a higher pocket pair than you or an AK or AQ or something similar to that. Just my opinion and I am new to poker though so I could be wrong by a mile.
If you catch a pocket pair, and its lower than, say 10s, You should always consider to call if its not to many high raisers before you.
And yes its a pretty small chance 2 catch trips on the flop 1/9 you catch. But if you do catch you should se yourself as a strong favorit and try to get their money in if its not a very scary flop, like 3 spades and you have 222, you should be a little more careful. Always try to hit'em if its not costs more than 2-3BB i would say.

I try to see the flop as cheap as i can.
Is there an overcard or no trips i fold that muck
you want to see the flop as cheap as possible but with high pocket pairs..like JJ or higher u need aggression
a small bet may keep others from betting more than you're willing to call depending on the table and the players and position...
Small pocket pairs are good to take a flop with cheap... as already stated many times. Another thing you should consider is stack sizes. Try to get in a pots with people that are medium to deep stacked. When they hit something like top pair and you hit your set, you should be able to win a nice sized pot.
i limp in as cheap as possible and try and get a set
also if it is rasied abd there are say 4 people involed
i will call becos if you do hit you proberly get more than 9 to 1 on your money
with the implyed odds and such
Set mine, lather, rinse, repeat. Or just flop sets and win pussies.
either play them super aggressive or dont play them at all...ideally u wanna go heads up or maybe against 2 other players
i usually limp in as cheap as possible hoping for a set ;)
This is a situation where you have to know your opponent very well, and it depends on your position. If you have an early position raise with a caller and possibly a re raise in front of you, it might be a good idea to fold the small pair. However if you are facing an opponent who raises often and you pick up the pair in late position it might be a good idea to come over the top of them ( you have to know that they will fold to the re raise though) You could flat call, I usually dont like that option though in a multi way pot.

according to what i heard. there is a 11% of hitting a set on the flop ,,,,with me a 0%,,,,and if i fold them preflop there is a 100% another one of mine will come on the flop....
( you want to see the flop as cheap as possible but with high pocket pairs..like JJ or higher u need aggression ) im sure for this my aggression is 100% :)
i just called a small rasie with 66 againts 2 players flop came Ad 8d 6h
im 1st to act i check
next player bets 7 times bb
is called by player 3
i go allin
player 2 calls
player 3 folds
turn Ah
river comes 6
i take it down with 6666
thats why i will nearly always call with a low pkt pair
I hope to hit or fold cause if you keep going odds are your calling dead in the water unless it's cheap
pocket pairs 2-J = slowplay in my oppinion ... if you raise, callers will be with overcards / pp ... so if you see A, K, Q on flop you won't know what to do ... so just invest little in the pot and hope for a "low cards flop" or hit a set :D ... GL !
All I know is little pocket pairs can win you huge pots!
Well low pockets I either call or raise, but prefer just call with them.
I hit the trips so let's figure it out that how is the odds someone also have a trips.
It's very rarely someone also got a trips on flop.
Well yesterday I run pretty badly on that.
Play low pocket pairs like AK. Nice to see preflop, but if it doesn't improve on the flop check fold.
small raise with small pairs and then followup riase but dont be affraid to fold...
i usually flat call low pockets depending on my position
either play them hard or not at all...dont play them outa position or ur gonna get reraised
i play every pocket pair but it also depends on the action that takes place before me
Hi guys...I think itīs depends your stack, you position on the table and opponents' sytle...
I love playing low pocket pairs in freerolls. Best way to get ahead fast. blinds 50/100 or higher i'm putting in all my chips w/any pair. No reason to sit and wait for your ak and get sucked out on when you know you opponent is likely to have an ak and will call your push w/ a pair of 6's. I'd take that race all day in a freeroll and if you look at the leaderboard in most these regular tounaments the guys that are always on top are the ones risking it on their small pairs. hope this helps!
i live and die with them... good luck all
i see people push w/ them all the time, and either steal the blinds or get called by bigger pocket pairs, so i don't see how that's good. it's a coin flip against 2 over cards, but a lot worse odds against a bigger pp. doesn't make any sense 2 risk a bunch of chips 4 a small pot, when the only hand that's gonna call is gonna be a coin flip at best.
pocket pairs are shit
suited conectors are better if you are going on multiplie flops
