People who win at Carbon are usually Donks.

I always get pissed the shit off because of this game. Carbon poker is absolutely horrible, you get QQs on the button on short stack with 7 people left. Shove, find out BB has KK, like wtf. I did some calculations just for fun. And it's close to 0.0003% chance of that happening. Out of the last 5-6 tourneys, this has happened to me. Carbon poker is crap, freaking. Had AA another game, I got raised my BB and I re-raise all in, he calls with A 10 suited. He hits a flush on the river. Like this always happens at carbon, this place is made for crap players and I'm sick and tired of it.

wow i seriously thought i was going crazy until i read this thread. carbon has a nice warm spot in my recycling bin
i had 5 QQ vs Arag all in preflop situations. i didnt win one of them. mathematically i should have been struck by fucking lightening

In my opinion, every site that you play on has bad beats, just like in real life! I dont think carbon is that bad, although, i do wish the other sites were back already!

Before you flip sh** people remember that many a people used to say the same thing about Full Tilt. However, I will agree that this is insane how many bad beats Carbon Poker deals out, I miss the massive traffic of full tilt, the better graphics, It might have been a money laundering lying scam run by a million shady organizations in Ireland, an indian reservation in Canada, and all the rest of it, but dammit, IT WAS FUN

Hey pikeboy Idk if i EVER wanna play on the damn client again, i mean, it dealt me out ridiculous bad beat time and time again, just unreal on the client.

i hate all the bad beats too, but the fact of the matter is online poker is full of these horrible beats, and its just something that players have to deal with

We tend to remember the bad beats more than the amount of times that good hands hold up because it stings more. I am not sure if you are running a hud, but if you are and look it up, it should be about right.

I have only been on Carbon for a few months. I did notice the players are different than the other site I was playing. Notice I said PLAYERS. I had to adjust my game to help become a more winning player than a losing one. I thought wow I can't win here all my premium hands are getting crushed and all that jazz, but like I said I had to evaluate how to play at Carbon. It's not the cards that are beating you it is the other players who for whatever reason just call any 2 cards.
right now their isn't much out there to choose from as far as poker sites. Hope you can over come your downswing. I remember I had a 3 month downswing on another site and almost gave up poker but I never let it beat me and the ups was awesome!! Good luck

I believe that with any poker games, it's pretty much a game of luck. However lately it seems that I am hearing more and more negativity about Carbon. I've only played there for a couple of months at the most but I don't feel that it's a bad site at all. Again, my bad beat hands are chalked up to the luck of the cards!

If you don't like Carbon, play at Cake or Bodog,,,,bad beats are a part of the game,,,yes I get really mad and cuss and such...but try to move on,,,How easy it is to dwell on it and let it ruin the rest of my play for the day..when I do let it affect the rest of my day, I wind up losing enough that it takes days to recover what I lost....Just my thought

I completely agree with what your saying, it's just odds in Carbon usually don't keep up. Like usually odds don't work out. Like a coin flip for me, I've won 1/10 times honestly speaking. I know this because I don't go all-in often with coin flips, either when I'm short stacked or I'm a huge overstack. 1/10 is only 10% of the time I win on a 50/50 possibility, why...I don't really know. It just seems like I always end up losing by some stupid hand or some horrible beat by some donk who goes all in with like Q 4 against my AK suited.

I don't think this is true, at least not on Carbon. Yes, you have some bad beats, but which poker room don't have this, right?

I totally agree....I will never deposit another dime to this network for that very reason. Ive lost hundereds maybe thousands trying to convince myself that the bad beats were just bad luck or timing. But when you lose time and time again with hundred dollar plus pots to 2 outers on the river enough is enough!! I'll try and freeroll my way to a couple hundred dollar stack ,but seriously folks,if you want legit and realistic board action check out Doylesroom or Bodog, Both sites have totally revamped poker rooms and software that are pretty impressive and traffic is building little by little at those sites. Dont let the fact that the DOJ closed a few sites make you feel like Merge is where you need to go,because in all honesty I wouldnt recommend this site to anyone. Like the software..hate the ridiculous bad beats on a continuous basis!!

It happens, a lot. Believe me, I too couldn't believe all the bad beats. But if you stick with it and have good bankroll management, you'll find a time when everything seems to be going your way too. All the sites dish the same amount of ridiculous bad beats to me. It's all just poker. Playing on a different site doesn't change it, but it might change you. Maybe the interface calms you down more, and you don't tilt as much, or maybe bigger sites have games you like better, or better blind structure. One thing I don't like about merge is that I impulse join games that I really am not comfortable playing, but I am just impatient. That includes joining games for like a third of my bankroll because I was too lazy to wait for the appropriate one to fill up. I play the same, play with the best usually, and get bad beaten. I don't deposit, so when I go broke, I don't stress that much about it.

Nah, it's just been ridiculous of late, played some of those 10 cent super turbos and it was simply disgusting. Lost 4 straight tables on the bubble due to sicks out. Stuff like AA vs A5, runner runner flush. Or runner runner straight.

It's weird. I understand why turbo structures offer more suckouts, because people are playing more loosely, but I feel like the same hands in a turbo favor the worst more so than a regular blind structure game. It's probably psychological. My slansky dollars would probably give me at least a 50% ROI with the super turbos, but I'm more like -150%.

I've heard a lot of people complaining:( that good hands on carbon are being beat by the river, with crappy ones by whoever pushes all in. I guess they are blaming Carbon for that but shouldn't the blame be on the players, or is it really a computer glitch? I'm fairly new to online poker and am not sure about how any of these online poker sites actually work :confused:....such as the technology behind the cards. Appreciate any info on this. Thanks

I got knocked out of 2 tournys today by getting beat on the river by inferior hands. I think its getting worse.

People who win on carbon usually know how to navigate pass the donks to win money!

Everyone runs on hot and cold streaks, its just a matter if you can handle them or not.. There were just as many people complaining about Full Tilt and any other online poker software about how the site is out to beat them..

You are so right LuckHuck, Poker Stars & Tilt both have gazillion of threads claiming rigged software and blah blah blah. It's called variance people, you can't win them all & the reason they have 5 community cards in hold'em is so that you can actually win on the river if you risk your chips and get lucky, is it a suck out, yep does it matter nope, we just remember the ones we lose but i never see people post about the times they won on the suck out. I totally agree petey that people just remember the suckouts. Just like in blackjack, you ALWAYS remember when the dealer turns a 16 into a 20 or 21, but you never remember the times you turn 16 into a 20 or 21.

donks are everywhere like i said before, varaince is the key, u will see more suckouts in online poker than live becuase more hands are dealt in online..that is a fact..

u are supposed to win on the river.. not the flop...

if u dont care.. then go all in all time and be amazed how u keep win..
