really AK sucks......yesterday i lost 4 times,2 in a row,with AK vs AJ and everytime J hits on the flop....fking sick :( who experienced something like this?

AK doesn't suck at all. I prefer it to, say, 72.
AA is worse...... at least a k you can hit either one or maybe a straight. AA i freakin lose every time. flush, 2 pair, set or straight messes up my whole day. All you can do is know when to holdem and know when to foldem
Play you AA and your AK! Your just getting all riled up over a couple of bad beats. In the long run, both hands are profitable. Gotta look at the big picture.
There's a reason AK is known as Anna Kournikova.......it looks good but rarely wins. As always, it depends on how it was played.
I find it hilarious how so many overplay A-K. So many get dealt that and think they are holding A-A, what's even more funny, is when they whiff the flop they just keep shipping chips just because they are holding A-K lol
I've been there. Usually, Ace rags beat my AK. It sucks. But it's just part of poker.
I always fold ak preflop. I only play pocket pairs or if I am playing heads up I add 10 2 suited in with the pocket pairs.
You need to see what ppl are calling with first.
Try to get ppl with rags to fold and ppl with pocket pairs to call. It's a hand to play when you're out of position so ppl think you're just that strong.
The best starting hand doesn't always win, that's poker.
Lets just say i'd rather have AK then AJ if we were playing. It would win 80% of the time probably. It's just bad luck you're losing with it now.

People overplay AK all the time. They just dont know how to fold when they whiff or they push like a donk and wonder why they lose!!
People at the casinos tend to win with either a strong starting hand or a weak pair (HU).

AK is 2nd best combo for me, but it's true, u can loose even with AA
Like Rellik419 said ..you gotta look at the hole picture ...on a long term you will see that you won more than lost.Same with AA probably you had a bad beat a couple of time...Did you know that people remember only bad beats...the hands that they win they forgot

I'm with you on that TakinOver! It's to the point right now where if a hand I'm playing gets as far as the river I start gritting my teeth and moving as far a way as I can get from sharp objects. Honestly I feel like I could have pocket aces, flop two more, and loose to FIVE KINGS ON THE RIVER!!! (OK thats an exageration, but you get my frustration :)
How bad is it really though? Well I see peeps in here complaining about loosing with AK, or AA, meanwhile 95% of my hands have start with 3,4, or 5, and never connect with ANYTHING.

I wouldn't recommend folding AK preflop. It's a drawing hand with a lot of potential, especially if you're heads up. Also, it's a monster hand short handed. You've just got to be willing to dump them after you miss on the flop.

Business is always trying to see the flop with this hand or fold. I have lost count of how many times I messed with AK.

AK is a great starting hand but if you dont hit on the flop with it prepare yourself to lay it down.
AK might suck but when its suited it will cause destructive problems 4 opponents

It doesn't suck. its really a bit annying when you hit nothing on the flop but its a very good card

OP is tilting. AK is clearly better than AJ. If an A hit instead of a J you could be playing for stacks if villain is over excited.
The thing with AK is that if you hit either one players tend to proceed very cautiously unless they have a monster. Over time you will end up break even at best because you will lose against players who hit the monsters when you have TPTK, you will miss and not be able to bluff, and your TPTK will not get paid off.

If I have them against a weak ace preflop I will take that anytime in the long run you will profit.......against PP depends on how much money I have invested and the game type
las nite i went on tilt and lose $ 15 on 888poker itx bcoz i did a buyin of $ 1.5 in a tourney and was in ending stage when my AK got crushd against AQ he actually hit a full house as 2 more Q on table i just dint even feel like playing aftr that was so irritated i hate lose with AK, AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT but it happen often on all website THIS IS POKER.
