The surrogate with bruce willis, I just love the story line, how can that not be our future.
I'll throw out some ones that were not mentioned yet ...
No love for Ripley in here?! ... the Alien(s) saga would be in my top 10 (first 2 more than the second 2).
Matrix saga... Blade Runner ... Logans Run ... Predator .... Orig Planet of the Apes ...

While not in the same class as a blade runner, or star wars, Independence Day was neat just because they did a teaser commercial on the superbowl, and EVERYONE wanted to see the wihite-house get blown up!
Just watched oblivion which you kinda see the ending coming as youre watching the movie
Terminator 2 Judgement Day will always be one of my favorite sci-fi movies ever!

Avatar would be my fave not much of a scifi fan I do love horror movies especially of the extreme kind
CUBE, eraserhead (WEEEEEEIIIIIRD), brasil, city of lost children, time bandits, PI...someone gimmie a thumps up if you seen any of these great movies..
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is one of my fav's..

The Colour of Magik is a great one also, HogFather is form the same book series, but not one of my favorites tbh
edit: Riverworld was a pretty good one
There are more, as sci-fi movies are some of my fav, but I can not recall them all atm, so I will update if I remember more...If I remember to even do that lol
Human centipede andthe fly. I really liked the Fly. it was a creepy flick and exciting!
The Fly was a pretty cool movie,and I never saw Human Centepede!
Avator was great, but all-time favorite sci-fi movie would have to be aliens, such a great movie better then the first one for sure.
